Grant Burge Wines is proud to have again won premium Red Five Star Winery rating for the fifth year in a row in James Halliday's Wine Companion. The No. 1 best selling guide to wineries and wine in Australia has launched its 2013 edition, which also highly rates the wines of one of Barossa's most famous family-owned wine brands.
The 2009 Grant Burge Corryton Park Cabernet Sauvignon received a score of 96 points and was ranked in Halliday's "Best of Cabernet Sauvignon 2013".
Grant Burge explains the vineyards that produce this wine: "At the southern end of the Barossa near Mount Crawford there is a magnificent property established over 150 years ago. The entrance is marked by two grand pillars - Corryton Park. I had admired Corryton Park since I was a small boy. One of the highest and coolest sites in the Barossa region, it provides perfect conditions for creating first class Cabernet with great finesse, depth and complexity. In my pursuit of excellence in Cabernet Sauvignon, I purchased the property in 1999."
Established in 1998, Grant Burge Wines has grown to become one of the top 10 privately owned wine companies in Australia. The winery is based at the Moorooroo Cellars, on the banks of Jacobs Creek, in the heart of the Barossa Valley. As a fifth generation winemaker Grant is absolutely committed to the Barossa Valley. He strongly believes that fine wines are born in the vineyard.
