The New Champagne Taittinger Prestige Rosé gift-packaging has been awarded the top accolade of 'Carton of the Year' at the annual Pro Carton/ECMA Awards for its distinctive 3D sparkling bubble effect, the first of its kind on the Champagne market.
Taittinger decided on this special 3D 'hologram effect' for its new range of gift-packaging, which presents a visual impression of bubbles for which Champagne is so famous, in a creative eye-catching manner with the design reflecting Taittinger's elegant style. The gift-carton was designed by VG Angoulême, the premium packaging division of Van Genechten Packaging.
The Awards jury commented: "The astonishing quality and huge impact at the point of sale were the main reasons that we awarded this carton the accolade of Carton of the Year. The "bubbles" were printed in such a way that they looked as though they were actually spheres and it was not until they were touched that one realised that they were in fact completely flat. In a market that is fiercely competitive the judges felt this carton had instant appeal and standout and demonstrated perfectly what quality can be achieved when printing on cartonboard."
The annual ECMA (European Association of Carton and Cartonboard manufacturers) 'Awards for Outstanding Cartons' are now in their fifteenth year and are among the most coveted awards in their category. The prize-winning concepts provide springboards for further ideas, especially as sustainable packaging solutions are becoming increasingly important. Some recent winners in this overall category include Smirnoff and Johnny Walker.
The new Champagne Taittinger packaging will be on-shelf in the UK in the run up to Christmas. A similar design is available for Taittinger Brut Réserve NV and Vintage 2005. All new packaging is available from Hatch Mansfield, UK sole agents for Taittinger Champagne.
