South African winery Kleine Zalze has announced the appointment of winemaker RJ Botha, selected from 102 candidates, to join the multi-award winning winery just outside Stellenbosch.
RJ joins Cellarmaster Johan Joubert and will be responsible for assisting him in continuing to evolve the highly acclaimed Kleine Zalze range, and in developing new premium white and red blends, the first of which are due for release in South Africa this year.
RJ brings with him a wealth of experience, including an internship at Château Angelus in Bordeaux and five years as winemaker at Nitida in Durbanville, during which time he was named Diners Club Young Winemaker of the Year 2010.Johan Joubert, says "We are delighted to have made this appointment. RJ's passion, and his belief in getting quality wines in the bottle matches ours."
