Villa Maria wines from New Zealand, official wine partner to BAFTA, was proud to host an intimate lunch for much-loved TV Presenter and Journalist Clare Balding at the Corinthia Hotel yesterday in honour of her upcoming 'Special Award' at the Arqiva British Academy Television Award in 2013, taking place on Sunday 12th May. Claire was joined at the lunch by close friends and colleagues who have played a significant part in her hugely successful television career.

This year the Special Award is given in recognition of Clare's important personal contribution on screen in factual television and for her incredible dedication to presenting across entertainment and sporting events, particularly during her expert coverage of the London 2012 Olympic Games and Paralympic Games. Guests attending the event included some familiar names from the world of sport and entertainment including Comedian Jennifer Saunders, Retired British Swimming Champion Mark Foster and Singer Alison Moyet. Patrick McGrath MW, Managing Director of Hatch Mansfield (UK Agent for Villa Maria) and Fiona Mottershaw, Villa Maria Brand Manager also attended the event.

This special lunch took place in the beautiful surroundings of the Corinthia Hotel's Northall Restaurant private dining room. Guests were welcomed with a glass of Villa Maria Private Bin Lightly Sparkling Sauvignon Blanc before taking their seats for a specially prepared lunch with each course matched to the following Villa Maria wines. The Star match was the Villa Maria Cellar Selection Riesling 2008 with the Tuna Carpaccio. The Arqiva British Academy Television Awards will be broadcast on Sunday 12 May on the BBC
