A Methuselah – equivalent to eight standard bottles – was donated by Champagne Taittinger and signed by 22 celebrities backstage at the House of Fraser British Academy Television Awards on 10th May.
The bottle will be auctioned off later this year to raise funds to support BAFTA - an independent charity that supports, develops and promotes the art forms of the moving image by identifying and rewarding excellence, inspiring practitioners and benefiting the public. Amongst celebrities to sign the bottle were, Mary Berry, Amanda Abbingdon, Anna Friel, Alex Jones, John Bishop, Katie Piper and many more.
Champagne Taittinger is the official Champagne Partner to BAFTA for the 13th consecutive year. Special BAFTA labelled Magnums, 75cl bottles and a limited number of Methuselahs of Champagne Taittinger Brut Réserve were produced for the Awards this year. In addition a bottle in a presentation gift box was also included in the gift bags, given to all nominees and citation readers.
