Louis Jadot Lauches Résonance Pinot Noir 2013 from Oregon ...

Burgundy producer, Louis Jadot, has just launched Résonance Pinot Noir 2013 in the UK - the first vintage from their new project in Oregon, USA and the first investment of its kind for them outside of their home region since they began in 1859.

Produced in limited quantities, the wine is produced by winemaker Jacques Lardière, Maison Louis Jadot’s winemaker for over 40 years while the project is managed by Thibault Gagey, son of Pierre-Henry Gagey, the President of Louis Jadot.

Katarina Luciakova, UK Brand Manager for Louis Jadot, Hatch Mansfield – UK sole agents for Louis Jadot comments, ‘The name Louis Jadot is synonymous with Burgundy, where they have been producing fantastic Pinot Noirs for over 150 years.  This project is incredibly exciting as they have taken their expertise and are now producing Pinot Noir from the other side of the Atlantic, in Oregon, USA.’

The Résonance vineyard, purchased in 2013, is located in the Yamhill-Carlton District AVA within Oregon’s Willamette Valley and eight of its 13 hectares, are planted with Pinot Noir. The vineyard sits on a convex portion of a low, west-east orientated ridge emerging out of the Coast Range at an altitude of 80 to 150 metres above sea level. Soils are primarily Wilakenzie, an old sedimentary deposit and Yamhill, ancient submarine basaltic soil.  Planted on their own rootstock, the Pinot Noir vines were first grown in 1981.

Louis Jadot was founded in Beaune by Louis-Henry Jadot in 1859, and celebrates over 150 years of fine winemaking.  Today Louis Jadot produces wines from over 150 appellations – from Beaujolais Villages to Le Montrachet.
