Completed in 1989, the classic 18th century chateau-style building was architecturally inspired by the historic Chateau de la Marquetterie in France owned by Champagne Taittinger. The 48,000 square foot winery houses production facilities, offices and an extensive visitor centre which attracts in excess of 100,000 visitors a year. The production facility was later extended to focus on the increased production of top quality Pinot Noir.
Hand harvested fruit is brought to the winery and passes through a gravity flow system. The fruit is picked and fermented by clone before final blending. Two styles of wine are made; sparkling wine made strictly to the Methode Traditionelle and red wine, made only from Pinot Noir. The whole winemaking process is under the watchful eye of Eileen Crane, President and Chief winemaker. Eileen's aim is to create an elegant, delicate yet intense style. She is supported by TJ Evans, Pinot Noir Winemaker.
