Joseph Mellot 2013 Vintage Report

A long drawn out growing season with temperatures well below the seasonal norm, led to a long period of drought through the summer, leaving harvest dates much later than usual. 2013 is a vintage that won't reveal its true colours for a good few months, but in the end is likely to impress.

Joseph Mellot 2012 Vintage Report

The winter of 2011-12 was mild, which led to budbreak arriving early. This led to three months of cold and humid weather during which the early gains were lost. It wasn't until August until temperatures started to rise again. Whites are showing exquisitely defined aromas, both delicate and complex, undeniably pure with both fullness and freshness.

Joseph Mellot 2011 Vintage Report

2011 was typified by unpredictable weather, with raped growth early in the season followed by cooler summer, it was these extraordinary set of weather patterns that shaped the 2011 vintage. Despite the weather, the wines developed well, full and supple on the palate with the classic Loire freshness with the potential to broaden out and develop.

Joseph Mellot 2010 Vintage Report

2010 was a classic year in the Central Loire, the moderately dry climate during the early growing season was marked by alternating hot and cold spells. Therefore the maturation, like all phases of the vines growing cycle started slowly and finished in optimal conditions.
