Joseph Mellot 2018 Vintage Report

The 2018 vintage brought welcome respite from the frost of the two previous years. It was, however, a vintage of extremes with a bitterly cold winter, sporadic sun and rain through spring and hot drought conditions in summer. After the ups and downs of the vintage, the fruit found its balance in the first week or so of September, making 2018 a very satisfactory vintage indeed.

Joseph Mellot 2013 Vintage Report

A long drawn out growing season with temperatures well below the seasonal norm, led to a long period of drought through the summer, leaving harvest dates much later than usual. 2013 is a vintage that won't reveal its true colours for a good few months, but in the end is likely to impress.

Joseph Mellot 2012 Vintage Report

The winter of 2011-12 was mild, which led to budbreak arriving early. This led to three months of cold and humid weather during which the early gains were lost. It wasn't until August until temperatures started to rise again. Whites are showing exquisitely defined aromas, both delicate and complex, undeniably pure with both fullness and freshness.
