A very attractive bright pink colour. Aromas of strawberries, ripe raspberries, and cherries pair with a smooth, well-rounded palate that offers up pleasing volume and a long, persistent finish.
The Colchagua Valley is home to the Caliterra Estate, located 200 km south of Santiago and 60 km from the coast at 150 metres above sea level. Caliterra Estate has approximately 1,085 ha with approximately 75% of untouched land and Mediterranean climate, where cool nights and gentle breezes temper the sun's energy creating perfectly ripe, intense, concentrated and balanced wines.
The 2017 vintage gave sophisticated wines with a beautiful balance of fruit concentration, structure and depth mainly due to the season’s particularly low yields. Notably healthy conditions in the vines and bright acidity helped to preserve the fresh fruit style of Errazuriz's winemaking, allowing for remarkable concentration and structure and lively fruit flavours.
The grapes were harvested at optimum ripeness, crushed, destemmed and deposited into the tanks, where they underwent a 24-hour pre-fermentation maceration. Each tank was bled 5-10% once the desired colour was obtained. The must was centrifuged, and the clean juice fermented without oxygen at 12¼-15¼C (54¼-59¼F). Fermentation of some lots was stopped to maintain the fruit aromas along with a small percentage of residual sugar. The wine was stabilized, filtered, and bottled as quickly as possible.
