Bright and beautiful golden colour. Lively aromas of papayas, honey, ripe apricot, almonds and walnuts jump right at you and are complemeted with fresh citrus pastry notes. Pleasant soft and velvety, accompanied by a refreshing acidity that gives balance and promises a lovely persistence for years to come.
The grapes for the Estate Shiraz were rigorously selected from vineyards in the Rapel Valley, whose regional climate is characterised by rainy winters and dry summers. The vineyard is planted on the deep clay-loam soils that characterize the terroir in Chile's central zone. The vines are trellised to vertical shoot positionning and are drip irrigated, which allows for strict control for low and well-balanced production.
The season began with an ideal spring, the heat summation was moderately higher than the historic average, and there was no rainfall. The relatively early 2015 harvest resulted in a vintage with a fresh palate profile, fine tannins, elegant potency and concentration, subtle aromatic expression, and deep colour.
The grapes were hand picked in April and then transported to the cellar, where they were destemmed, crushed, and deposited into stainless steel tanks for fermentation at 26¼-28¼C (79¼-82¼ F) with two daily pumpovers. The length of the post-fermentation maceration depended on the development of the individual lots and total skin contact varied between 10 and 25 days.
