Beaujolais Blanc 2017

Château des Jacques, Domaine Louis Jadot
  • 75cl bottle

A splendid Chardonnay from the Château des Jacques estate. This barrel fermented and barrel aged wine has a rich toasty and creamy nose while the palate is smooth and balanced with great elegance.

Vineyards

Louis Jadot purchased the Château des Jacques estate in Moulin à Vent at the end of 1996. The estate is well known as one of the most prestigious in Beaujolais and is made up of 5 different ""clos"" totalling 20.4 ha, which are now all vinified seperately. The property includes 9 ha of Chardonnay vines that make this very individual wine.

Vintage

A low yielding year in Beaujolais due to summer hails but the surviving fruit was ripe and of excellent quality.

Winemaking

This wine is vinified and partly aged in oak barrels like all the great white wines from the Côte d'Or area. It is aged for an average of 8 months before bottling.
