Duche d’Uzès Blanc 2019
Intense nose, releasing apricot aromas with subtle notes of tropical fruit. Well balanced on the palate. Powerful on entry offering up notes of ripe fruit. The wine’s smoothness combines perfectly with its freshness, showing lovely harmony on the palate, with a hint of iodine on the finish.
Vineyards
The parcels of vines grow on slopes of clay-limestone soil where the soil drains well and warms up quickly in the spring, helping the grapes to ripen early.
Vintage
After an unusually rainy 2018, the autumn of 2018 followed the trend, with 550mm of rain recorded. This rain allowed the vines to develop throughout the year under good conditions in spite of the relative drought delivering wines with aromatic freshness, marked by tropical aromas of grapefruit and flowers.
Winemaking
Total destemming followed by a light, cold maceration on the skins and a gentle pressing. Cold static settling. Low temperature alcoholic fermentation in stainless steel vats. The wine is protected from oxygen to preserve its aromatic potential.
