Hancock and Hancock Fiano 2018

McLaren Vale
  • 75cl bottle

Lifted tropical aromas of nectarine, nutty preserved lemon scents and loads of texture on the dry, fresh and savoury palate.

Hancock & Hancock Fiano is made from 2ha vineyard that was grafted onto Chardonnay rootstock in 2012. This single vineyard block is located in Seaview, in the northern part of McLaren Vale, next to Blewitt Springs. It lies approximately 85 metres above sea level and about 10km from the Gulf of St Vincent that provide the cooling breeze in the afternoons. The plot is planted on soil that is approximately 60cm of sandy loam over 10cm of red clay on top of limestone shale, with a slight easterly incline.

A happy vintage with a combination of warm and moderate weather in January to March that helped grapes reach their full potential. A lovely vintage showing beautifully in this fiano.

A portion of the wine was fermented in old oak barrels and part in stainless steel. Blended soon after ferment, fined, filtered and bottled in order to retain the fresh, varietal characteristics.

Enjoy with:

  • Fish/Shellfish
  • Pizza/Pasta
  • Salads and Picnics
Beautiful with ricotta and spinach ravioli
