Powerful aromas of crushed strawberries and citrus complemented by floral notes. Extremely fine on the palate, releasing fruity and floral notes of violets, complemented by a nice acidity which prolongs the enjoyment.
The parcels of vines are located near the Pont du Gard and grow in poor, well-draining clay and limestone soil, which provides the vine with a regular moderate water supply.
The 2019 was a vintage of extremes. At the start of the year, we had a very low rainfall with just over 50mm between January & March (normally we have 150mm). Spring was very cold with a delayed bud break. The cold temperatures of spring were changed for an extreme heatwave in June, were temperatures reached 43°C for a short period of time. The rest of the growing season was a mixed bag with some rainfall that ensured good maturity. Grapes were harvested in early September. Despite the vintage challenges the wines are really well balanced with fine concentration, freshness, and always that minerality that characterises our rocky terroir, plus exceptional presence of fruit!
Harvesting is carried out at night by machine, to preserve the grapes’ aromatic characters. Short, cold maceration on the skins, followed by low temperature alcoholic fermentation. Constant protection against oxygen to preserve the aromatic potential. Matured for 5 months in stainless steel vats.
