The Taittinger family are delighted to release the much anticipated Comtes de Champagne Blanc de Blancs Brut 2007 in the UK.
This Champagne is only produced when the harvest is deemed to be of exceptional quality, worthy of a vintage year and this new release joins the ranks of just 35 vintages produced since the first cuvée in 1952. The Chardonnay grapes used in the wine are grown only in the top Côtes des Blancs vineyards classified as Grand Cru, namely, Avize, Chouilly, Cramant, Mesnil-sur-Oger and Oger.
Made by Loic Dupont, Chef de Caves, and his team at Taittinger, this will be the last vintage release of Comtes de Champagne that Loic will see before his retirement later this year following over 30 years winemaking at Taittinger.
Alexandre Ponnavoy has been working alongside Loic at Taittinger for the last three years and will be taking over the important role of overseeing future vintages of this highly regarded wine.
Pierre-Emmanuel Taittinger comments, “This great 2007 vintage lives up to all expectations as soon as you open the bottle. It is the second vintage made during my presidency, when I took over with my son Clovis and daughter Vitalie. It is truly the soul of Taittinger.”
