Seña 2015 Awarded Perfect 100 Points

Seña, Chile’s first Icon wine, officially entered the select group of perfect 100-points-wines, after the report just published by international wine critic James Suckling.

This perfect score crowns Seña’s consistent trajectory as a world-class wine, achieved through a passionate commitment to quality, perseverance and innovation. It also positions the Aconcagua Valley and consolidates Chile among the most prestigious world-class appellations.

Following his recent fifth trip to Chile in three years, during which he tasted nearly 800 Chilean wines, Suckling published his article entitled The Time for Chilean Wine is Now,” in which he praised the outstanding quality of Chilean wines produced all along the country, and awarded Seña 2015 a 100 points describing it as: “Stunning aromas of black currant, stone, blueberry and licorice. Also iodine. Floral. Perfumed. Full body, fantastic density of fruit and ripe tannins. It goes on for minutes on the palate with such energy and focus. Touch of chewiness on the finish. A complex and complete wine that delivers a generosity with firmness. Drink in 2021 but already a classic.

Eduardo Chadwick, Owner and President of Viña Seña, commented: “Seña was created under our vision that Chilean wines should be recognized among the best in the world, and over the past 20 vintages it has shown a consistent trajectory, demonstrating its place as a world-class wine. I am delighted that James has recognized our beautiful Seña 2015, and awarded it a perfect score. This is not only a great acknowledgement for Seña, but also for our Aconcagua Valley and Chilean wines, in consolidating our quality recognition by world critics.”

Francisco Baettig, Seña Head Winemaker, added: “Seña 2015 shines by its perfect balance and seamless structure, marked by its many layers of pure fruit and silky tannins. The wine displays wonderful complexity, along with unique tension, energy and elegance. This is a definite recognition that Chile belongs to the major leagues of wine, and is a righteous reward to our team’s hard work and dedication.”
