Matthew studied Hotel and Catering Management at University where his interest in wine was born from the study of Gastronomy. This interest was developed over 2 years working for Threshers and then in various restaurants and bars in London. In 2000 he was instructed to find a ‘proper job’ due to the unsociable hours of the on trade. He found that ‘proper job’ at Matthew Clark where he stayed for the next 13 years. During that time Matthew worked with the on trade in London developing his wine knowledge and after 5 years moved into the National Accounts team looking after hotel groups, caterers and travel accounts. His final role was within the Wine Studio Agencies team working to develop business in the Route to Market sector, customers included Cash and Carrys, regional wholesalers, on line customers and Independent retail.
