Richard has experience of winemaking in different wine regions around New Zealand including Central Otago, Canterbury and Nelson. He has also worked a number of vintages in the U.S.A., in Oregon and Washington, where he fell in love with complex red wines. For the last six years, Richard worked closely with Gordon Russell at the Gimblett Gravels winery, developing a deep understanding of the unique nature of Esk Valley wines and the vineyards from where the grapes are sourced. Under his guidance, the focus on innovation and quality is set to continue
