Vistamare 2018 3 x Magnums 3x150cl

• Magnum

This wine opens with intense floral notes of acacia and linden flowers. On the palate, it is fresh and compact with notes of bergamot, pear, nectarine and white currant before moving towards a more mineral and spicy character, with notes of flint, rosemary and saffron. The wine gets riper in the finish with hints of mango, along with a slight hint of olives.

Vineyards

“Vistamare” means sea view and is often used by the coastal hoteliers to entice would-be guests, even though their rooms may only offer a limited view of the Mediterranean. The vineyards used for Vistamare actually enjoy a panoramic view of the Tuscan horizon and their grapes are gently touched by the salt air and brilliant colours of the Tuscan sea.

Vintage

The 2018 season began with very wet and cold conditions but the precipitation was much needed after drought conditions during the two previous years. Bud break started late and June and July were ideal conditions. August brought heat and afternoon thunderstorms but grapes were in wonderful condition for harvest.

Winemaking

Very limited production, a characterful expression of Tuscan white winemaking which is fermented and aged in stainless steel tanks and barrels.
