    Cellar Master

Alastair heads up the experienced and enthusiastic winemaking team. He joined Kleine Zalze in 2014 and has a huge breadth of experience making wine around the world. For Alastair, achieving balance is the single most important factor in winemaking. He also believes that diversity of ‘terroir’ is crucial and that winemakers must allow site characteristics to be expressed in the wine. His wide commercial experience means he tempers this respect for regionality with a clear-sighted view of the varying needs of different markets.
