Chardonnay is the only grape variety used in the whites of Mâcon. The vineyards of Saint Véran are planted predominantly I in very stony, limestone soils.
A season of extreme summer temperatures and one of the hottest and sunniest on record which led to lower yields. However, whilst yields are low, the quality and concentration is outstanding, with wines of great character.
Fermentation and ageing take place in stainless steel tanks to preserve the fruit and freshness as much as possible.
