The Gaja family - Angelo in front, with from L-R Gaia, Giovanni, Lucia and Rossana

Settling in Piedmont, northwest Italy, in the mid-17th century, the family has been growing vines and making wines in the Langhe hills ever since. More recent adventures have led to Tuscany and the medieval and romantic village of Montalcino and to Bolgheri on the western coast.
